Rob Rice Homes welcomes you home to a sustainable, WSEC-compliant home in the South Puget Sound region.
Sustainable energy solutions are more important than ever. According to a report by the Rhodium Group, U.S. greenhouse gas emissions increased by 1.3 percent in 2022. In compliance with the new Washington State Energy Code (WSEC), Rob Rice Homes is leading the charge of offering code-compliant homes within the South Puget Sound area. Our newly constructed homes boast energy-saving and water-efficient features and are equipped with renewable energy technologies. Features such as Energy Star appliances, high-efficiency HVAC systems and advanced heat pumps are now in our newest homes in the Bradbury community.
If you’re looking for a convenient and abundant home space, look no further than the luxurious two-story Hazel 2611 plan. With its five serene bedrooms, 3 ½ bathrooms and an exclusive main floor junior suite complete with a full bath, approximately 2,611 square feet of floor space never felt so inviting. For something special, check out our Pine 2457 plan, which will be ready by June 1st. This stunning home offers a main floor primary suite, four cozy bedrooms and three bathrooms. Luckily for you, we didn’t sacrifice sustainability for luxury. Both of these homes in our Bradbury community come equipped with energy-efficient technologies.

Solar panels installed at every home in Rob Rice Homes’ Bradbury community offer a renewable energy source.
WSEC-Compliant Home Features of The Bradbury Community
According to Mark Shepard, project manager for Rob Rice Homes, a number of features required by the new WSEC have been incorporated into each house. Shepard proudly explains, “We included a solar array consisting of five panels on the rooftops, providing a renewable energy source.” To further optimize energy consumption, the homes come equipped with programmable heat pump water heater and home heater systems that are remotely controlled with a smartphone.
In addition to energy efficiency, the homes are equipped with upgraded windows and walls that drastically reduce heat loss. Shepard notes, “We’ve taken meticulous steps to minimize heat loss by upgrading homes with dual-pane windows, which exceed the code’s minimum requirements. Sealed barriers are also implemented to effectively reduce air loss through the walls and maximize each house’s HVAC system.”

In partnership with Sunset Air, all our homes are equipped with state-of-the-art energy and water systems in compliance with the new Washington State Energy Code.
Partnering With Sunset Air for Sustainable Living
We are proud of the partnerships we’ve created with other industry leaders in the pursuit of creating sustainable homes. One such 30+ year partner is Sunset Air, a Lacey-based heating and air conditioning company.
Shepard shares, “They have played a considerable role in both research and implementation of the energy-efficient products that we use. Our mutual goal of creating more energy-efficient and sustainable homes has strengthened our partnership, and I expect we will continue down the path of conceptualizing and implementing efficient and renewable solutions in every Rob Rice home.”
Rob Rice Homes’ Commitment to Quality Homes
We are fully committed to adopting and implementing upgrades to align with future energy codes. Our dedication to constructing optimal homes is highlighted by Shepard: “We have our own plans to meet future codes while maximizing the usability and energy efficiency of the home for our clients.”
He adds, “While sustainable homes have a higher upfront cost, they offer significant long-term cost savings from energy-efficient systems and appliances within the home.” We recognize the growing need to shift towards sustainable homes and Rob Rice Homes is making a significant stride towards zero-energy usage homes to conserve resources, reduce environmental impact and promote a healthier indoor environment.
We take pride in prioritizing the needs of homebuyers to ensure every code-compliant upgrade creates the best living experience.
