If you’re an animal lover in Thurston, Mason or Lewis County, you may be familiar with the annual Toast For Tails banquet. It’s a phenomenal fundraiser and a wonderful chance to mingle with other business owners in the community for a great cause. While we won’t be meeting in-person for a banquet and the annual auction, Rob Rice Homes is excited to participate in the two-part virtual event. This year, the silent auction will be up from November 9-14, with a live auction event November 14.
Supporting Local Pets And Owners For 40 Years
Toast For Tails is a fundraiser in support of Concern For Animals, a local organization that’s celebrating its 40th year of helping animals and owners in need. If you are unfamiliar with their mission, Concern For Animals specifically aims to help financially disadvantaged pet owners with the care and health of their beloved pets. They provide all manner of assistance to those who need it, particularly spay and neuter services. The CFA Pet Food Bank supplies pet food to those who need it. Their goal is to keep pets with their loving owners, even when those owners struggle to afford their care.
Their services include a niche cat adoption program, which takes abandoned and feral kittens, cleans them up, provides medical care, including spaying and neutering, and acclimates them to be adopted as house pets. CFA also provides pet owners in need with a spay and neuter voucher for partnered veterinary clinics. This assistance helps keep pets healthy and avoids the overwhelm that comes from a domestic pet getting pregnant in a home that cannot accommodate such a scenario.
They also provide a financial lifeline for pet owners who are unable to attend to a domestic animal’s medical emergency with the CFA Medical Program. Their affiliated veterinary caregivers will help with injuries, serious illness and more for low-income individuals. Senior citizens who are unable to regularly groom their pets can call South Sound Senior Services to get in touch with CFA and connect with a groomer. CFA is hoping to move forward with a program that helps pet owners experiencing homelessness to vaccinate their pets.Rob Rice Homes is excited to participate in the two-part virtual event. This year, the silent auction will be up from November 9-14, with a live auction event November 14.
A Night In For Animals
Toast For Tails is typically centered on a beer and wine tasting event, a virtual impossibility because of COVID-19. Instead, CFA will leave the silent auction up online over the course of a week, from November 9 to 14. During that time, donors can check back and increase their bids before the final winners are announced at the live broadcast on November 14.
This is a cause close to our hearts here at Rob Rice Homes. Not only do we love our own pets, we also firmly believe in helping our neighbors care for their beloved furry friends in hard times. We have previously worked with CFA to build their animal food bank, where pet owners can get wet or dry food for their domestic animals the same way they might find food for their families at a typical food bank. This year, Rob Rice Homes is honored to be a Platinum Paw-level sponsor. Our sponsorship helps cover event expenses and make the auction possible, but donations from the community will help CFA continue their incredible work in 2021.

If you want to learn more about Toast For Tails, you can visit CFA’s website here. They are currently still accepting donation items as well as sponsors. This is an event that keeps families together and adds joy and health the lives of animals and their owners. A gift of any size will move CFA toward a financially secure 2021 with ample opportunities to rescue and care for the countless animals they help every year. The silent auction will go live on the CFA website at concernforanimals.org on November 9, 2020. We hope to see you there!
