Rob Rice Homes Community Amazes Visitors

The recent grand opening of Chestnut Village, the newest Rob Rice Homes community, created a lot of excitement and buzz when nearly 100 Realtors attended a special brokers’ open, followed by the steady stream of visitors at the community’s first official weekend open house. Evident by the comments, many were awed by the homes’ premium features and by the quality and location of the community.

Chestnut Village is one of the few new home communities in the Olympia School District. It is set in a picturesque area near a local berry farm and the Western Chehalis Trail and is a short distance to downtown and local shopping. The community has abundant green space and borders a dedicated area for habitat preservation. Homes are fully landscaped and fully fenced.

Chestnut Village borders a habitat preservation area.

Those who know Rob Rice’s signature quality in homes have come to expect upscale features and superior construction.

But there are unprecedented opportunities at Chestnut Village, never offered before:

  • Built in 90 days. A Chestnut Village home can be built in approximately 90 days on the new Ready… Set…90 Program, when a foundation is already in place.
  • Exquisite Designer Schemes. There is a choice of nine different color schemes, all coordinated by an expert designer for premium counters, flooring and finishes.
  • Something for Everybody. The community offers a wide range of eight one and two-story floor plans, with two new floor plans that have never been offered before.

READY…SET…90

THE READY…SET…90 program is a unique approach to quality home construction that allows pre-sale buyers the exciting chance to customize their Chestnut Village home and have it ready in only 90 days*:

READY: The buyer is pre-approved for a mortgage, then selects their lot and home plan from the foundations that are in place. With $1000 earnest money and a signed agreement the buyers make decisions to customize their home.

SET: Buyers select from the many designer choices from the front door to all of the lighting fixtures to build their home just the way they like it.

90: Once selections are made, home construction begins and the home is ready in approximately 90 days!

Choices: Premium features and color schemes

Vonna helps new buyer select a color scheme

“How much do these extras cost?” is the most common question asked by open house visitors.

Vonna Madeley, one the Realtors who represents Rob Rice Homes, tells them that the rich slab granite counters, expansive hardwood flooring, designer back splash tiles, the white doors and millwork are all standard. But many find it hard to believe because most builders consider them upgrades.

Vonna often has to reassure them, “What you see is what you get. These premium features are included in the price of the home!”

Each Chestnut Village pre-sale homebuyer has a choice of nine different color schemes for stunning cabinet finishes, flooring, counters and tile, all artfully coordinated by a designer.

“Buyers have designer-coordinated color schemes to personalize their home without having to be design experts,” says Helena Rice who works with the designer to provide the many options to buyers. “It simplifies decisions while ensuring that everything works beautifully together.”

Choices also include exterior stone, exterior and interior paints, door styles, carpeting, lighting fixtures and window grid patterns, all to make the home completely unique.

Something for everyone

Premium features come with the price of the home

With the eight different one or two-story floor plans that range from 1,950 to 2,652 sf, there is a home for just about any household.

“There are retired couples who are moving from a 3000 sf home and find downsizing a bit scary,” says Vonna. “We have a gorgeous 2377 sf home known as the “Spruce” with a downstairs master. There’s a bonus room, bedroom and bathroom upstairs, so it is convenient for when family visits.”

There are two plans offered for the first time in Chestnut Village. The “Poplar” has 4 bedrooms, plus a bonus room and a “flex space” for a convenient office or craft room. The “Hazel” features a main floor junior suite, which is perfect for multi-generational households.

Same quality craftsmanship

“We have looked at other communities Rob Rice has built and they are still gorgeous,” another open house visitor said. “I watched his video and he seems like a good and honest man you can trust.”

Realtor Bob Jorgenson, who has sold Rob Rice Homes for 25 years, says that Rob spends the money up front to ensure that the beauty of the home and the neighborhood stands the test of time.

“I sell Rob Rice homes in communities today that were built 20 years ago like in Stikes Woods and Brookfield that have not only retained their value but have appreciated because of the quality craftsmanship that goes into his homes.”

Rob Rice is Thurston County’s largest local home builder and was voted the Best of South Sound for 2013. He and his wife Helena live in Olympia with their two sons; Alex Michael and Carson.  Rob is a graduate of Washington State University with degrees in construction management and architecture.
